What is Filthy/Dirty House?
What began as an underground movement quickly became popular in mainstream clubs and radio stations around 2004. A form of electro house music, dirty house was harsher, grittier, and its sole purpose was to blow our heads off. Pioneered by the likes of Felix da Housecat and Steve Lawler, dirty house today has found itself host to many mainstream acts such as Tocadisco, Bodyrox, and David Guetta. Yet deeper down the rabbit hole we go, and find full-blown speaker-destroying productions from artists such as Digitalism and Justice. Check out our mix on Sunday for a good hour of the best dirty house has to offer.
