The Sunday Sampler: Edwin Birdsong / Daft Punk
OK so the Sunday Sampler has slipped back from its orignal planned fortnightly slot to a monthly venture. But in keeping with the BOH spirit the quality isn't going anywhere!
This sample is much more obvious that the previous one. Edwin Birdsong released this funky gem in the Seventies, and if you can't hear the sample from the very start then where have you been for the last few years?
And for the other 99% of you, here's Daft Punk taking the intro of Cola Bottle Baby, speeding it up and raising the key by a semitone. Add a vocoded voice loop and possibly the best solo ever and you get Harder Better Faster Stronger.
More next month...
