The Sunday Sampler: The Jets / Alan Braxe And Fred Falke

It's time for a new feature here on BoH. Every other Sunday there's going to be a pair of videos with a common theme. The first one will be a track of yesteryear, quite often something obscure or long forgotten, and the second will be a house tune that samples it. Hence the Sunday Sampler. Simple. So here's today's...

The Jets released 'Crush On You' in 1985, reaching #5 on the UK singles chart. Fast forward to 2000, and French duo Alan Braxe and Fred Falke plucked out the refrain (found around the 2:27 mark) and created the house anthem 'Intro'.

Marco V - Coma Aid

When you're mixing a house/trance set you need some crossover tunes, ie. tunes that bridge the gap between genres. Here's a great new tech track produced by the respected Dutch DJ. Based on Kim Wilde's 'Cambodia' released back in '82, it may be no surprise that Coma Aid is in fact an anagram of the title. Also worth checking out is Armin Van Buuren's remix if you want a full on trance version.

Mobin Master & Robin S. - Show Me Love (Hot Rats Reload)

Its always nice to be bathed in a smooth soulful current, especially when its a remix of one of the greatest dance anthems of all time. The original, Robin S' 1992 release took the world by storm and was turned into a modern-day classic by Australian DJ/producer Mobin Master. Until now, no one quite took this angle on it. With its smooth bass line and luscious chord structure, the Hot Rats remix fit perfectly within HedKandi's Disco Heaven series last month.

Sharam - Crazi

Member of legendary award-winning duo, Deep Dish this DJ is a global phenomenon. Perhaps more well known for his commercial success with PATT (Party All The Time) and his remix of Daniel Bedingfield's, The One this track strays away from the lime light, being more of an underground city track. Featuring some great flange play, Crazi is a refreshing change to what we may have come to expect from Sharam.
